The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has published its bi-annual intermediated general insurance statistics for December 2025, providing an overview of intermediated general insurance placed with APRA-authorised general insurers, Lloyd’s underwriters and unauthorised foreign insurers (UFIs). The release provides industry-level data on business placed by intermediaries, including statistics on business placed with UFIs segmented by region, exemption type, atypical risk class and customised reason. APRA has also published a companion database covering December 2010 to December 2025, alongside existing explanatory notes and a glossary. APRA indicated the next release will be in September 2026 (June 2026 edition).
