The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) reported that staff in its Lake Tanganyika Zone, together with insurance sector stakeholders, took part in a tree-planting exercise at TIRA’s office premises on Ilembo Street in Mpanda, Katavi Region, as part of the national Green Campaign. Participants included stakeholders from the National Insurance Corporation (NIC), Milembe Insurance, an NBC Bank agency, and Triple G and Jovin insurance companies. Acting Lake Tanganyika Zone Manager Ahaz Joel linked the activity to environmental conservation and encouraging a culture of tree planting, and said it also marked the birthday commemoration of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, through practical action.
