The National Bank of Serbia announced that API Bank a.d. Beograd has enabled deep link technology for Instant Payment System, or IPS, payments on the internet. API Bank customers can now complete payments at online merchants through the bank’s mobile banking application by selecting IPS Scan as the payment method, choosing API Bank from the list of banks and then authenticating in the app to confirm the transaction. The update means API Bank joins 14 other banks in Serbia that support this payment flow. The process allows customers using a mobile phone to move directly from the merchant checkout page into the bank’s app, where authentication and transaction execution take place in the protected mobile banking environment rather than on the merchant’s page, so sensitive payment instrument data do not need to be entered with the merchant.

The National Bank of Serbia said API Bank has enabled deep link technology for IPS online payments through its mobile banking app. Customers selecting IPS Scan at online checkout are redirected to the app to authenticate and confirm payment. API Bank is the 15th bank in Serbia to support this process.
