The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) participated in a multi-stakeholder workshop in Arusha to discuss implementation of Universal Health Insurance for All, including the regulator’s role in the health insurance system and how claims and disputes will be handled under procedures set out in insurance law. The session brought together regional and district officials, health-sector leadership and facility managers, the National Health Insurance Fund, the Ministry of Health, religious leaders and other health insurance stakeholders from across Arusha Region. Discussions focused on implementation approaches and expanding public education on health insurance, with participants agreeing resolutions to disseminate that education to citizens. TIRA’s Northern Zone Manager, Dr Lupilya, presented on how TIRA has prepared for the rollout and the expected approach to claims management and dispute resolution within the legal framework.
