The session was chaired by Deputy Governor Khankeo Hamanyengao and brought together representatives from relevant ministries, commercial banks and deposit-taking microfinance institutions, alongside the decree drafting team, with 65 participants in total. The central bank linked the need for the decree to persistent practical difficulties in banknote management driven by public habits in using and storing banknotes improperly, and noted that the draft decree comprises nine chapters and 35 articles; participants provided detailed comments to strengthen and complete the text.
