The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa) announced that its Board President, Ante Žigman, has been appointed a member of the Management Board of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), with the mandate starting on 6 July 2025. Hanfa noted that the appointment reflects Žigman’s contribution to ESMA’s work, including in areas such as digital finance, sustainable finance and data quality management. ESMA’s Management Board, chaired by Verena Ross, is described as the authority’s key governing body under the ESMA Regulation and oversees strategic and operational matters including the multiannual work programme, budget and human resources. Hanfa also highlighted that Žigman has been a member of the Management Board of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) for two years, meaning Croatia will have the same representative serving simultaneously on the top management bodies of ESMA and EIOPA from 6 July 2025.
