The National Bank of Serbia reported that Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic, in her capacity as the Republic of Serbia’s Governor at the International Monetary Fund, participated in a meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC). Discussions focused on current global economic developments and prospects, and on economic policy measures to address prevailing challenges, with priorities including preserving macroeconomic and financial stability and supporting the smooth functioning of the global economy. The meeting also covered work related to the general revision of IMF quotas. Within the global financial safety net, the IMF’s medium-term objectives include improving its operational framework to reflect changed operating conditions, with the IMFC positioned as the IMF’s advisory body on international economic and financial market developments and on governance and oversight risks to the international monetary and financial system.
