The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has published its Quarterly Superannuation Performance report for the December 2025 quarter, showing total superannuation assets of AUD 4.5 trillion as at 31 December 2025, up 0.8% over the quarter. APRA-regulated funds accounted for AUD 3.2 trillion of total assets. As at 31 December 2025, total APRA-regulated assets rose 9.1% year on year to AUD 3,181.4 billion, self-managed super fund assets increased 6.0% to AUD 1,061.4 billion, exempt public sector superannuation schemes grew 3.9% to AUD 182.1 billion, and life office statutory fund assets increased 5.8% to AUD 60.6 billion. For entities with more than six members, total contributions for the year to December 2025 increased 11.5% to AUD 220.8 billion, comprising employer contributions of AUD 156.3 billion (up 8.6%) and member contributions of AUD 64.5 billion (up 19.2%); benefit payments rose 12.5% to AUD 139.9 billion, driven by lump sum payments of AUD 77.6 billion (up 13.8%) and pension payments of AUD 62.3 billion (up 10.8%), while net contribution flows increased 6.1% to AUD 72.2 billion.
