Mexico's National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) published the Capitalisation Index (ICAP) for broker-dealers (casas de bolsa) as of end-September 2025, reporting a sector ICAP of 32.28% and placing all operating broker-dealers in the early warning Category I. Category I reflects compliance with the minimum capitalisation requirement of 8% plus a 2.5% capital conservation buffer funded with core capital, implying an ICAP above 10.5%. Under the early warning framework, Category I indicates institutions are sufficiently capitalised to withstand unexpected losses and therefore do not require immediate supervisory actions in relation to solvency.
