The Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (SFC) published an update on the first 2025 joint session of the “Me informo y cuido mi dinero” campaign in Medellín, delivered with the Superintendence of Companies and the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce. The outreach focused on helping consumers avoid unauthorised collection of money from the public and adopt safer practices when accessing online credit and mobile applications. Across activities held on 6 and 7 March, participants were shown, using a real case, how unauthorised fundraising offers are currently marketed, mainly through social media. The campaign also advised consumers to verify the authenticity of firms offering online loans, download apps only from secure sources, and carefully review the permissions requested when installing applications; it highlighted promises of high and fixed returns as an initial warning sign. Sessions were hosted at the Medellín Chamber of Commerce, the University of Medellín and Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, and senior delegates from the three authorities participated in local media interviews to broaden outreach.
