The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission has published a notice granting companies whose fiscal or financial year is not a calendar year additional time to file their initial annual returns. Using its powers under section 98A(2A) of the BVI Business Companies Act, Revised Edition 2020, the Commission has provided a nine-month extension for companies that were required to make their initial filings on or after 1 October 2024. The notice is the second issued under this provision, following a 11 December 2024 notice that granted a similar extension for calendar-year companies with initial annual returns due by 30 September 2024.
