The State Bank of Pakistan highlighted a two-day capacity-building training on the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), delivered by the National Institute of Banking and Finance, Pakistan (NIBAF-Pakistan) in collaboration with Risk Associates for cybersecurity professionals and representatives from banks and financial institutions. The training, held on 7–8 August 2025, covered PCI DSS v4.0 with a focus on payment security architecture, cardholder data protection, and compliance lifecycle management. Risk Associates participated as a certification body and PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), providing technical guidance aimed at supporting institutions as digital payments expand. Risk Associates and NIBAF-Pakistan indicated plans to broaden the collaboration into advanced training covering cybersecurity governance, ISO/IEC 27001, and emerging threats affecting the financial sector.
