Russia's Ministry of Finance published remarks by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at an expanded meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, outlining agreements to deepen Eurasian Economic Union cooperation in agriculture, transport and energy. EAEU members approved agricultural production forecasts and supply-demand balances, agreed to update priority transport projects and adopted regulatory amendments for cross-border electricity trade. The transport project list will add a railway route from Nevel through Gatchina to seaports in northwest Russia, alongside efforts to introduce electronic document management at maritime checkpoints. The electricity amendments cover information exchange, mutual trade and allocation of cross-border transmission capacity. Mishustin also reported that EAEU GDP grew by more than 1% in the first half of the year, mutual trade rose 10% from January through July, and national currencies accounted for about 95% of goods settlements.
