Bank Indonesia reported that official reserve assets stood at USD 146.3 billion at the end of September 2026, broadly stable from USD 146.5 billion at the end of August. Government foreign loan withdrawals and tax and services receipts supported the position, while government external debt repayments and rupiah stabilization measures weighed on reserves amid persistent global financial market uncertainty. The reserves covered 5.3 months of imports, or 5.2 months of imports and government external debt servicing, exceeding the international adequacy benchmark of about three months of imports. Bank Indonesia expects external sector resilience to remain supported by adequate reserves and foreign capital inflows.
