The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has published audited financial information for the Deposit Insurance Fund of the Sri Lanka Deposit Insurance Scheme for 2025, extracted from financial statements covered by the Auditor General's report and approved by the Governing Board. The fund recorded total income of LKR 41.2 billion, a surplus after tax of LKR 24.0 billion and total comprehensive income of LKR 24.3 billion. As at 31 December 2025, total assets stood at LKR 226.0 billion, total liabilities at LKR 52.7 billion and total equity at LKR 173.2 billion. Premium collections from member institutions rose to LKR 19.1 billion from LKR 17.3 billion, while interest income amounted to LKR 20.7 billion from local currency instruments and LKR 1.4 billion from foreign currency instruments. The investment portfolio included LKR 179.6 billion of local currency securities and LKR 41.3 billion of foreign currency securities measured at fair value through other comprehensive income. Liabilities included LKR 40.3 billion payable to the International Development Association under Financial Sector Safety Net Strengthening Project Component 1, LKR 97.1 million for Components 2 and 3, a LKR 5.6 billion compensation provision and LKR 6.4 billion payable to the Department of Inland Revenue.
