The Central Bank of Aruba has launched a digital survey running from 4 February to 25 February 2025 to collect data on residents’ banked or unbanked status and their payment behavior, to support its analysis of the payments dimension of financial inclusion. The survey aims to measure the prevalence of bank accounts in Aruba, understand reasons for having or not having an account at a local commercial bank, and compare how people with and without bank accounts manage payments and finances. The central bank expects the results to help identify excluded groups and obstacles to banking access and to inform policies to reduce barriers and improve access to payment services; responses are anonymous and treated confidentially for statistical and policy purposes. Participation is open to Aruba residents aged 18 and over via the central bank’s online channels.
