The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported that Deputy Chairman Daler Murodalizoda participated in the regional “Asia Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Monitor 2025” forum in Baku, organised by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), focused on small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) financing, trade policy and sustainable development opportunities in the region. Discussions covered emerging risks in financial markets amid heightened geopolitical tensions and their potential impact on SME financing, including possible measures by financial regulators to mitigate risks and broaden alternative funding options for entrepreneurs. The forum also considered international trade development, the role of regional cooperation and ways to increase financial inclusion. On the sidelines, Murodalizoda met ADB Executive Director for Japan Shigeo Shimidzu to discuss expanding Tajikistan–ADB cooperation, including financial system development, SME support and joint projects, and to explore technical assistance to develop a regulatory and legal framework to protect consumers of insurance services. The ADB representative indicated the proposal is under review and the feasibility of such a project will be assessed.
