Bank Indonesia reported approximately IDR 27.43 trillion in Islamic finance, investment and trade commitments consolidated at the Business Deals Ceremony during the 13th Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival. The agreements form part of SAPA SYARIAH, an initiative connecting businesses with markets and financing through education, business linkages and matching. Deputy Governor Solikin M. Juhro identified three priorities: expanding financing for leading halal sectors, improving financial inclusion for micro and small enterprises, and strengthening coordination among authorities, financial institutions and businesses. The largest commitments comprised IDR 19.40 trillion for strategic projects, including public private partnerships and housing finance, and IDR 5.32 trillion in Islamic money market and foreign exchange transactions. Financing included IDR 499.75 billion for micro, small and medium enterprises and halal startups, as well as more than IDR 2.2 trillion for halal corporations. The package also covered IDR 9.78 billion in letters of intent between small businesses and prospective buyers and a IDR 4.45 billion Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk agreement. Financial Services Authority Chief Executive of Banking Supervision Dian Ediana Rae said the sector has capacity to expand support for halal food, fashion, tourism and creative industries. Islamic banking financing rose 11.61% year on year to IDR 748.7 trillion as of August 2026, while the gross non-performing financing ratio was 2.3%. Further expansion should be accompanied by governance, risk management, consumer protection and digital transformation measures.
