Trinidad and Tobago's Ministry of Finance announced the appointment of Larry Howai as Governor of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT), following Cabinet’s move to remove the incumbent governor. Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo presented the instrument of appointment to Howai on 25 June 2025. The change follows a 24 June 2025 request by Cabinet to the President to revoke, with immediate effect, the appointment of CBTT Governor Dr. Alvin Hilaire. The Government said further information would be provided in the coming days.
