The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan met the leadership of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) in Kuala Lumpur to review current cooperation and agree to deepen collaboration to support Uzbekistan’s reforms in Islamic finance. Discussions covered future areas of collaboration, mechanisms for interaction between the IFSB and member states, and support measures including capacity building, professional training and technical assistance. The parties also focused on the role of IFSB international standards and options for adapting them to national practices, with the IFSB leadership expressing readiness to provide comprehensive support. As a next step, the parties agreed to organise an official visit of IFSB representatives to Uzbekistan and to intensify cooperation on capacity building and the exchange of international experience.
