The European Parliament has confirmed the appointment of Damian Jaworski as the next Executive Director of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). He will start a five-year term on 1 April 2026, and EIOPA will now complete the administrative steps to formalise the appointment. EIOPA’s Board of Supervisors proposed Jaworski for the role in October 2025. He is currently Director of the International Cooperation Department at Poland’s Financial Supervision Authority (Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego) and will succeed Fausto Parente, who has served as EIOPA’s second Executive Director since 2016. EIOPA’s Executive Director is responsible for the authority’s day-to-day management and the implementation of its multi-annual and annual work programmes, with the term renewable once for a further five years.
