The State Bank of Vietnam reported that Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh accompanied the Prime Minister at the signing of loan and aid agreements between Vietnam and the World Bank and Asian Development Bank totalling around USD 418 million, supporting water environment, transport logistics and climate adaptation infrastructure projects. The agreements cover three Binh Duong province water environment improvement projects financed by a World Bank (WB) loan equivalent to USD 230.76 million, a southern inland waterway corridor and logistics development project with a WB loan equivalent to USD 107.67 million, and an Asian Development Bank (ADB) loan equivalent to USD 79.422 million for climate-resilient infrastructure for ethnic minority communities in Phu Yen and Quang Tri provinces (USD 39.711 million each). Later the same day, Canh attended the Prime Minister’s meeting with ADB Vice President Scott Morris, which included discussions on addressing implementation difficulties for official development assistance and concessional loan projects and on ADB support for large-scale initiatives in areas such as green transition, energy and sustainable infrastructure.
