The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo announced it has joined the International Financial Consumer Protection Organisation (FinCoNet) as an Associate Member, linking its supervisory work more closely to international practices on fair and transparent financial products and services. Membership is intended to strengthen the central bank’s market conduct supervision of financial institutions by drawing on FinCoNet standards and recommendations, and to support further development of its Consumer Protection Department, described as a new function within its revised organisational structure. Participation in FinCoNet activities, including training, studies and international cooperation, is also positioned to help align local standards with the G20/OECD High-Level Principles on Financial Consumer Protection as Kosovo’s financial market regulatory framework is developed.
