The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan announced that it and the National Telecommunication Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance information sharing and cooperation focused on improving both organisations’ cybersecurity posture and initiatives. The MoU sets out bilateral workstreams covering joint deliberation on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends and mitigation strategies, and the exchange of technical insights and best practices. It also includes collaboration on digitalisation efforts, capacity building for threat detection and response, research and innovation in cybersecurity technologies, and stronger audit and compliance practices aligned with standards such as ISO 27001, as well as emergency response and cyber-incident handling and cooperation on establishing and operating sectoral computer emergency response teams in line with national rules. Both organisations indicated they will engage regularly and coordinate on matters of mutual interest.
