The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) published an update on its financial education programme for schools, reporting that more than 2,800 students have attended its lectures to date as part of its investor education and protection work focused on online investment traps in an increasingly digitalised financial environment. In the October to December 2025 cycle, CySEC delivered 29 lectures following expressions of interest from schools, with 13 CySEC staff members visiting schools across all districts and reaching more than 1,100 students. The sessions used interactive dialogue and everyday examples to cover safe money management, identifying misleading messages and offers that appear “too good to be true,” protecting personal data, and making responsible financial decisions, with particular emphasis on how artificial intelligence can increase the risk of fraud and misinformation. These activities formed part of CySEC’s World Investor Week 2025 programme, which also included an online quiz to help citizens assess their ability to recognise risks, a university lecture by the CySEC Chairman, a targeted social media awareness campaign, and the publication of an Investor Guide on artificial intelligence. CySEC reiterated that investor education and protection is a strategic pillar, with educational tools available through its Financial Education Portal and through its participation in Cyprus’s National Strategy for Promoting Financial Literacy and Financial Education.
