The Central Bank of Jordan published preliminary data showing tourism income rose 24.9% year over year in July 2026 to USD 926.2 million. The increase reflected the peak summer season, stronger arrivals from Arab countries, particularly Gulf states, and the return of more Jordanian expatriates. Tourism income for the first seven months of 2026 was broadly stable, declining 0.2% to USD 4.42 billion. Over the seven-month period, income from Arab tourists increased 12.8% and income from Asian tourists rose 3.9%. These gains were offset by declines linked to Jordanian expatriates, U.S. tourists, European tourists and other nationalities. Tourism spending abroad by Jordanians and residents increased 0.3% in July to USD 248.1 million but fell 7.5% in the first seven months to USD 1.15 billion.
