Moldova's National Commission for Financial Markets reported the pilot launch of a Consumer Protection module on the government’s eDemocracy platform. Developed by the Electronic Governance Agency, the module connects consumers, merchants and public authorities in a single digital channel for resolving consumer complaints. Consumers can describe a problem, select their preferred remedy and send a complaint directly to the merchant. If the matter remains unresolved, they can use the same platform to submit an individual petition to the competent authority or a collective petition where multiple people are affected. Both types of petition require an electronic signature. During the pilot, the Electronic Governance Agency will collect feedback from consumers, businesses and public institutions to improve the module’s functionality and user experience.
