The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has notified businesses that details for Abubakar Swalleh, unique ID AQD0388, have been corrected under the United Kingdom’s ISIL, Da’esh and Al-Qaeda sanctions regime, which applies in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Businesses must check for accounts or other relationships involving Swalleh or any other designated person and immediately freeze relevant funds, assets and economic resources if they are not already frozen. Any findings must be reported immediately to the Policy & Resources Committee, and businesses must not make funds or economic resources available to designated persons or related parties unless a permitted derogation or licence applies. Firms that identify an affected relationship must also report it to the Commission as soon as reasonably practicable after meeting their statutory reporting obligations, identifying the relevant customer or other connection and describing the relationship, transaction or asset and its value.
