The Sustainable Banking and Finance Network (SBFN) announced that the Banks Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BABiH) has joined as its newest member, strengthening the network’s footprint in Bosnia and Herzegovina alongside the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s existing membership. Established in 2004, BABiH represents 21 commercial banks and two development banks. The association partnered with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) ECA ESG Advisory Program in 2023 to develop ESG guidelines intended to help banks enhance environmental and social risk governance and improve ESG and financial disclosure for investors and other stakeholders. SBFN and IFC indicated they will support BABiH’s efforts to develop a national sustainable finance roadmap and framework, and noted that BABiH’s addition brings SBFN to 98 members across 72 countries.

BABiH, representing 21 commercial and two development banks, partnered with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to develop ESG guidelines. SBFN and IFC will support BABiH in creating a national sustainable finance roadmap, bringing SBFN's membership to 98 across 72 countries.
