Mexico's National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (CONDUSEF) published an alert noting that, during May 2025, 10 duly constituted financial institutions registered in the Registry of Financial Service Providers (SIPRES) notified the authority that their corporate identity had been impersonated. The alleged impersonation involved the unauthorized use of institutions’ names, logos or corporate denominations, and in some cases tax or administrative data, through print or digital media to deceive or financially harm people seeking credit. The affected institutions were ADN Capital Soluciones de Crédito, Thain Credit, Grow Your Future, Dex One Capital, Alternativa Oportuna, Noriat, Finfortuna, Financiera Maestra, Palace Resorts Capital (all SOFOM, E.N.R.), and Ictineo Plataforma (S.F.P.). CONDUSEF also highlighted SIPRES as a user-facing tool to help the public verify which financial service providers are properly constituted and registered.
