The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo has announced that Apple Pay is officially available in Kosovo, allowing domestic banks and financial institutions to link their cards to Apple Pay so citizens and businesses can make contactless payments using Apple devices such as iPhone and Apple Watch. Full enablement across all banks and financial institutions will take additional time, depending on each institution’s individual agreements and the required technical integrations. The central bank positioned the launch as a further step in modernising the payments system following the integration of Google Pay, and linked the work to its 2024–2028 Strategic Plan and a May 2025 meeting with senior Apple representatives. The central bank indicated that implementation will progress as individual institutions complete their integration work.
