The National Bank of Bulgaria has adopted amendments to the Central Credit Register framework, expanding the range of entities that can submit and receive data, tightening the deadline for reporting current information, and introducing rules for updating records following final court or administrative decisions. Credit purchasers and credit servicers are added to the list of entities that provide and access information in the Central Credit Register, aligning the ordinance with the Law on Credit Servicers and Credit Purchasers and amendments to the Credit Institutions Act. The reporting window for current data is reduced from “0 to 5 working days” to “0 to 2 working days”. The amendments also set out how information must be filed when client data in the register has been contested and a final court judgment or administrative act is issued, including recording final judgments declaring a credit null and making corresponding corrections in the register. The shortened reporting deadline takes effect from 1 February 2026, while the provisions on recording final court or administrative outcomes and related corrections take effect from 1 January 2026 to allow for technical implementation.
