The Montenegro Capital Market Authority held a working visit to Slovenia’s Securities Market Agency in Ljubljana as part of ongoing bilateral cooperation, using a two-day technical programme to exchange regulatory experience and support alignment with European standards in financial services. The programme covered digital assets, the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) procedures. Slovenian experts presented their approach to exercising regulatory powers under DORA, including licensing and meeting related obligations, and ran workshops on the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) covering licensing documentation for crypto-asset service providers, AML/CFT compliance checks and supervisory practices for licensed entities. Discussions identified opportunities for further technical cooperation and joint educational programmes on digital assets and financial market supervision, building on a recently signed memorandum of cooperation between the two authorities.
