The Canadian Bankers Association has published updated consumer resources aimed at helping Canadians identify and avoid fraud and scams, including an enhanced fraud prevention toolkit and a new quiz designed to test scam-spotting skills as part of Fraud Prevention Month. The new “What your bank will never ask” quiz uses real-world scenarios to help Canadians recognise red flags, while the toolkit and related materials focus on protecting personal and financial information. These resources complement the association’s monthly fraud prevention newsletter, which provides updates on emerging threats including AI-driven scams and reiterates what banks will not ask customers to share. The initiative aligns with the national Fraud Prevention Month campaign led by the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, the Competition Bureau Canada and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
