The National Bank of Moldova has put into circulation a new commemorative coin from the “Personalities” series, dedicated to Paul Gore and marking 150 years since his birth. The coin has a nominal value of MDL 50 and entered circulation from 25 July 2025. The proof-quality coin is struck in 999/1000 silver, weighs 16.5 g and has a diameter of 30 mm, with a reeded edge and a mintage of 250 pieces. The obverse features the coat of arms of the Republic of Moldova and the inscriptions “REPUBLICA MOLDOVA”, “2025”, “Ag 999”, “50 LEI” and “16,5 g”, while the reverse shows Paul Gore’s effigy and his family coat of arms with the inscriptions “PAUL GORE” and “150 DE ANI DE LA NAȘTERE”. The reverse design was produced by R.A. Monetăria Statului, Romania.
