The Central Bank of Montenegro hosted a delegation of 30 young professionals from the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and used the visit to outline its core responsibilities and reforms linked to Montenegro’s preparation for future membership of the European Union, the European System of Central Banks and the Eurosystem. The programme covered the bank’s role in the European integration process and key policy and operational areas including Montenegro’s monetary framework, current macroeconomic developments, payment infrastructure modernisation, the euro convergence process, its role as fiscal agent and financial education activities. Governor Irena Radovic also highlighted cooperation with Dutch institutions, particularly De Nederlandsche Bank’s contribution to strengthening the Central Bank of Montenegro’s institutional capacity through the Needs Assessment Project for future membership of the European System of Central Banks and the Eurosystem. Presentations were also delivered by the vice governor and senior officials responsible for financial stability, research and statistics, financial and banking operations, and communications.
