The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission held an outreach session in Songkhla to help small and medium-sized enterprises assess their exposures, determine which risks to retain or transfer through insurance, and prevent insurance fraud. Secretary-General Chuchat Pramunphon urged businesses to select coverage based on their actual operations and potential losses, including natural disasters, property damage, accidents and business interruption. The authority highlighted SME Package policies, which combine core protections such as property, machinery, inventory, liability, personal accident and business interruption coverage. It also noted that some sectors are subject to mandatory insurance requirements, while businesses can obtain additional products tailored to activities such as agriculture, rubber production, small-scale fishing and transportation. Feedback from local businesses will inform efforts to promote and develop products suited to different sectors and locations.
