In a new blog post, Hong Kong Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority Chairman Ayesha Macpherson Lau announced that the eMPF Platform will launch a one-stop MPF Account Information Enquiry Service on Oct. 5. Scheme members, authorized persons and eligible representatives handling a member’s affairs or estate will be able to request trustee and scheme names, account numbers and balances without contacting individual trustees. The service builds on eMPF’s full operational rollout in April, which centralized access to MPF accounts across the system. Authorized persons must provide the member’s signed authorization and identification documents, with eMPF verifying the member’s identity, signature and authorization before releasing information. Personal representatives must submit legal documents such as a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration, while people entitled in priority to administer a deceased member’s estate must provide evidence of their relationship to the member.
