The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Bank of Georgia to broaden cooperation across monetary policy, financial stability policy, banking supervision, payment systems and financial technologies. The agreement was signed following a visit to Baku by a Georgian delegation led by National Bank of Georgia Governor Natia Turnava and meetings with Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan Governor Taleh Kazimov. Discussions covered results under existing cooperation and further work on modernising payment systems, introducing risk-based banking supervision, monetary reforms, fintech adoption and financial literacy. The memorandum also provides for experience and information exchange, training and joint seminars, and research-oriented visits to support technical advice.
