The Central Bank of Chile, with the concurrence of the Ministry of Finance, renewed its precautionary Flexible Credit Line with the International Monetary Fund for USD 11.8 billion, equivalent to SDR 8.72 billion. The lower facility replaces the August 2024 arrangement and provides insurance against external risks without IMF conditionality. This is Chile’s fourth Flexible Credit Line since 2020, and the amount has been reduced with each renewal. The central bank has never drawn on the facility. The latest reduction supports its program to increase the share of international liquidity held as its own reserves, which currently total USD 53.52 billion after growing by USD 5.81 billion since the program began.
