The Chile Financial Market Commission (CMF) issued a public warning about seven entities offering loans online that allegedly claim to be supervised by the CMF and request advance payments for loans that never materialize. The CMF filed seven complaints with the Public Prosecutor’s Office for alleged fraud. The complaints relate to: Cooperativa Nordsee Capital (impersonating Administradora de Fondos de Inversión Nordsee Capital Management S.A., operating via nordsee-cl.com); Fundación Agente Diversa (agentediversa.cl); Coop Avanza (chilecoop.com); Credilaunch (credilaunch.cl); Partners Financial (impersonating EPG Partners, operating via partnersfinancial-cl.com); an impersonator of Gestora La Avanzada S.A. (operating through Facebook); and Servicios Financieros Coopvital (impersonating Coopvital, operating through unidentified means). The CMF also directed the public to its Fraud Alerts Page, which allows users to verify whether an entity or individual offering financial products or services is supervised by the CMF and to review alerts issued by the CMF and other regulators about unregulated entities or activities.
