The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo published an update on Governor Ahmet Ismaili’s meeting with Nathalie Francken, an Executive Director at the World Bank Group, held during the 2026 Spring Meetings in Washington, DC. In a joint meeting with Minister Murati, the parties discussed financial-sector developments with a focus on advancing financial inclusion and expanding access to finance for citizens and businesses through payment-system modernisation projects. The central bank outlined its ongoing work in this area, including initiatives on financial education, digitalisation of services, and increasing transparency in the financial market. The meeting also reviewed existing cooperation on financial-sector projects, including Kosovo’s integration into SEPA and the development of the TIPS Clone fast payments system, and noted the signing of international agreements with the World Bank in the financial sector.
