The sessions covered key risks in the gold sector, best practices to strengthen integrity and transparency, and regulatory challenges, with emphasis on bolstering legal and institutional frameworks and using public-private partnerships to address identified vulnerabilities. The workshop concluded by highlighting the need for enhanced regional and international cooperation and experience-sharing to protect the gold sector from illicit misuse.
