The Reserve Bank of Fiji presented its audited financial statements and operations report for the financial year ended July 31, 2026, reporting net profit of FJD 120.6 million and transferring FJD 118 million to the government. Profit exceeded FJD 100 million for a fourth consecutive year, supported by the management of foreign reserves and higher global interest rates on investments. Following amendments to the Reserve Bank of Fiji Act 1983, the financial statements were prepared in full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and profitability now includes realized and unrealized foreign exchange gains and losses. Because unrealized gains and losses cannot be distributed, the transfer reflected adjustments involving the Unrealised Revaluation Reserve Account, a prior year adjustment and a FJD 1 million allocation to general reserves. The central bank has transferred FJD 548 million to the government over the past five financial periods.
