The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario has established a new Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for Auto Insurance Fraud to provide expert and strategic input as FSRA implements the Fraud Reporting Service (FRS) and shapes future phases of its Fraud and Abuse Strategy. The inaugural TAC comprises nine industry fraud, claims and investigative services leaders from Co-operators, CAA, Commonwell, Aviva, BCM Insurer Mutual, TD, Intact, Definity and SGI. Members were selected following a public call based on leadership experience and technical expertise across claims, underwriting, fraud investigation, financial crime and fraud data analytics. The TAC’s first meeting is scheduled for September 22, 2025, and the committee is expected to complete its mandate by December 31, 2026. FSRA has published terms of reference for the TAC and indicated it will provide updates on progress in the months ahead.

The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario has formed a Technical Advisory Committee for Auto Insurance Fraud to guide the Fraud Reporting Service and future phases of its Fraud and Abuse Strategy. The committee includes nine industry leaders from major insurers, selected for their expertise in claims, underwriting, and fraud investigation. The first meeting is set for September 22, 2025, with the mandate concluding by December 31, 2026.
