The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported on meetings held during the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Spring Meetings in Washington, focused on Tajikistan’s macroeconomic and financial policy agenda and external support. Discussions centred on progress in implementing IMF recommendations, continued cooperation under the Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI), and the pipeline of technical and financial assistance linked to financial stability and sustainable growth. The National Bank chair Tolibzoda F.N. and Finance Minister Qahhorzoda F.S. met IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li to review implementation progress and next areas of cooperation under the PCI framework. The delegation also met IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department Director Jihad Azour to exchange views on Tajikistan’s macroeconomic situation and efforts to strengthen financial stability. In a separate meeting led by First Deputy Prime Minister Holiqzoda H.H. with World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani, the parties discussed implementation of ongoing projects and potential expanded cooperation on economic reforms, public finance management, energy, the digital economy and the investment climate, including financing needs for the Rogun hydropower plant and participation in regional initiatives and platforms for economic integration. The Spring Meetings are taking place in Washington from 22 to 26 April, with Tajikistan represented by Holiqzoda H.H., Tolibzoda F.N. and Qahhorzoda F.S.
