The Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) has adopted a revised Enforcement Policy for the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), replacing the version in force since 13 October 2019. The updated policy is in effect and is intended to provide clearer and more transparent guidance on how AFSA uses its enforcement powers. The revision introduces greater clarity on investigation processes, refines how sanctions and financial penalties are determined, adds provisions on restitution and actions for damages, and strengthens alignment with AFSA’s statutory powers. AFSA has encouraged market participants and any person carrying on activities in or from the AIFC to review the revised policy to better align with regulatory expectations.
