The Central Bank of Russia announced that the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Nizhny Novgorod Region have won the first All-Russian Financial Culture Capital Competition, which was jointly held with the Russian Ministry of Finance. The two regions were awarded the title after receiving the same number of votes from the competition committee. The winning entries were described as large-scale, regionwide projects that could be replicated across Russia, with the objective of improving residents’ understanding of financial services, competent use of financial technologies, and protection against scammers. The winners will receive informational, expert and methodological support for future projects and will host forums and conferences to share best practices and promote financial culture nationwide. The Government of the Russian Federation has approved the competition to be held annually. The inaugural edition included an initial review of 21 regional applications, selection of 12 finalists, and a final presentation of planned new educational projects, with the awards presented at the National Centre RUSSIA.
