The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario refused to renew Leszek Dziadecki’s life insurance and accident and sickness insurance agent licence and revoked the corporate insurance agent licence of Advantage Group of Finance Inc. The orders followed a contested hearing in which the Financial Services Tribunal found both parties unsuitable for licensing under the Insurance Act and its regulations. Dziadecki, Advantage Group’s sole director and owner, used the company for his insurance practice. The tribunal found that his history of misconduct across the mutual fund, financial planning and insurance sectors showed he could not be trusted to act as an insurance agent, while his rejection of previous regulatory findings prevented him from demonstrating rehabilitation.
