The National Bank of Poland reported a preliminary current account deficit of PLN 10.4 billion for July 2026, widening from PLN 7.6 billion a year earlier. A PLN 11.8 billion services surplus was outweighed by deficits of PLN 12.9 billion in primary income, PLN 8.0 billion in goods trade and PLN 1.3 billion in secondary income. Goods exports rose 12.0% year on year to PLN 135.5 billion, while imports increased 14.3% to PLN 143.5 billion as manufacturing activity recovered and global prices climbed. Computer equipment drove growth in both directions, and China overtook Germany to become Poland’s largest goods supplier for the first time. Services exports increased 4.4% to PLN 44.7 billion, while services expenditure rose 11.4% to PLN 32.9 billion. The primary income deficit narrowed by PLN 3.0 billion from July 2025, mainly because of lower income attributable to foreign direct investors.
